HAHA the idea of a smoothie binge just made me laugh!!!! I've retired the juicer for a while and am instead blending spinach, coconut water, grapes and some banana these days. Ummmmm, rinsing a blender VS spending 30 minutes cleaning out a juicer??? ...I'll pick the smoothie. I do love juice though, I get around to making it when I'm not lazy! Amrita]]> Kristina. Thank you very much! Grapes add a nice sweetness to juice and smoothies without too many added calories! (That's my little secret with green juice!) Amrita]]> Choclette. Thank you very much! Hi Amrita, I think your recipe looks all delicious - we rarely have pineapple and I love pineapple. They just never seem nicely ripe (and pricey, to be honest) Note to self: move to the tropics... Yeah, we loosely do high carb, low fat - but not all strict and obsessive. Generally the 80/10/10, whole foods, about 2/3 raw, scene. Some days a lot of cooked, other days lots of raw. My smoothies are right around 800 in the morning, Georgia's probably 600-700 (I add a pile of dates to mine usually). I'll hit something close to 1000 if I really load it up. My son, when he is home, easily does 1000 because he likes to eat. :-) It is a lot and it fills several good sized glasses (or an actual pitcher, LOL ) but it has a high nutrition value in a form that is a lot easier to consume. I have a tendency to get hungry during the day so a big start is important. For Georgia, since she is a nurse, she doesn't get a lot of breaks, so she can go for hours without being able to eat a thing. You can always have a big glass of smoothie and then put the rest of it in a container to consume in a little bit - our daughter does that when she works early sometimes. Spread it over time a little bit. If your smoothie is all about piles of fruit you get the value of the fiber, too. Greg]]> Amrita @ Crazy Vegan Kitchen. Thank you, Greg!!! Ugh tell me about it - I HATE having to yank out celery fibers etc from the juicer...when are they gonna make something that can just be rinsed out? Making juice is a work out in itself. I usually just make a big batch because of this - probably not too great to keep them in the fridge for a couple of days instead of fresh but.....TIME! Wowowowowow! 1000 Calories! Are you doing High Carb Low Fat? I see many people making 1000 calorie smoothies - but my stomach is really tiny and I get full so fast! Bananas also aren't my favourite which is a big part of the problem. I think it's also because I juice a lot and my body is used to just liquid going in and out straight away....I'm gonna make smoothies more often now though! Amrita]]> Greg @ Full of Beans.
